Pool information

Talcott pool operates in conformity with the Westchester County Department of Health’s requirements. A professional lifeguard is responsible for enforcing all safety and Department of Health rules. Members of our Board of Directors and the Pool committee monitor enforcement. These rules are for the protection of all persons using the pool facility. Disregarding rules puts you and others in danger and may result in loss of pool privileges.

RULES AND SCHEDULE

POOL SEASON – 2025:

  • Weekends May 24th through June 15th (including Memorial Day, May 27).
  • Daily June 16th through September 1st.

HOURS

11:00 AM to 7:00 PM

As required by Westchester County Regulations, the lifeguard is “off duty” daily between 1:00 & 1:30.

 

Homeowners & guests may stay within the pool area, but may NOT go in the water during the lifeguard’s mandatory break.  If, however, the lifeguard chooses to leave the pool area during his/her break, everyone MUST leave the pool area as well.

 

PERSONAL CONDUCT

  • Access to the pool is only available between homes 42-44 and homes 58-60. Homeowners DO MIND if you walk through their property.
  • We operate our pool in accordance with Westchester County Department of Health requirements. The lifeguard is responsible for enforcing all safety and DOH rules. Many of the
    rules listed below are Westchester County Department of Health requirements.
  • No one is allowed in or around the pool area when a lifeguard is not on duty and before or after the hours of 11 AM – 7 PM.
  • All residents and guests must sign in with the sign-in book provided at the Lifeguard Station.
  • Up to six (6) guests are permitted per house per day and must be accompanied by an adult resident at all times.
  • The Lifeguard reserves the right to turn away anyone that cannot prove Talcott residence.
  • Smoking and vaping are NOT permitted in, around or outside the pool area.
  • No wheeled vehicles (e.g., bikes, scooters) are allowed within the pool area. Strollers and medically necessary vehicles are permitted.
  • Persons with contagious skin diseases or other health conditions as referenced on posted signs are not permitted in the pool.
  • No pets are allowed in the pool area.
  • Be considerate in regard to the pool seating, tables and umbrellas. When crowded, please share.
  • There is no diving under any circumstances

SUPERVISION OF CHILDREN

  • Infants & non-swimmers may not enter the pool without a parent physically in the pool with them.
  • Appropriate pool attire must be worn in the pool.
  • Children who are not toilet trained must wear a swim diaper.
  • One adult may not supervise more than 4 children.
  • NY State Law states that “children under the age of 14 may not use the pool or enter the pool area without adult supervision”.
  • Children are the direct responsibility of their parents or guardians at the pool.

SWIM DEVICES/FOOD & BEVERAGES

  • Food and drinks may be consumed only on the deck away from the pool. No food or drink is ever allowed while in the pool.
  • Glass containers of any kind are permitted anywhere within the fenced area of the pool.
  • Alcoholic beverages are not permitted anywhere within the fenced area of the pool.
  • No floats or chairs are allowed in the pool.
  • Noodles, water-wings and child safety devices are permitted, however, use of a flotation device does not relieve adults of their supervisory responsibility.

  • The lifeguard will close the pool should thunder, lightning or other hazardous conditions occur. The lifeguard will re-open the pool 20 minutes after the last occurrence. If inclement
    weather persists, the pool may be closed at the lifeguard’s discretion.
  • The pool may be closed without notice due to health conditions, inclement weather, or
    for repair.
  • Private swimming lessons are not allowed at the pool due to insurance liability

POOL CLOSING GUIDELINES & USAGE

  • The lifeguard will close the pool should thunder, lightning or other hazardous conditions occur.  The Lifeguard will re-open the pool 20 minutes after the last occurrence. If inclement weather persists the pool may be closed.
  • The pool may be closed without notice due to health conditions, inclement weather, or repair.
